Tea Break

Oil on Canvas (3’x2′) mounted on hard board and a thin wooden frame at the back, the front frame has 4 beads of natural rose plants varnished as an interesting frame, this painting carries a memorable part of history in my life.

This painting is another great memory of our walks along the countryside in Leh when we came across this family take a tea break amidst threshing before winter set in.   The patriarch warmly welcomed us and offered us tea.  A sip revealed a slightly salted brew which he seemed to sense, and pulled out from his bag some sattu to go with the tea, ‘it enhances the taste, he said’..
